Creative Letterheads
The art of the quality letterhead is featured in Letterheady, an archive of the famous, imaginative, and plain bizarre letterheads from throughout recent history. Many of the iconic bands and musicians of the 1960’s are featured here (Frank Zappa, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash) as well as this beauty from Elvis Presley
Letterheady reads as a battle between businesses and individuals for iconic status through design (even between empires - Adolf Hitler and Winston Churchill both went for a type of gothic minimalism). Most unexpected was the realization that a serial killer would think to have his own letterhead produced (I happen to know several hipster graphic designers who would happily accept such a brief)
Each reader will have their favorite, however mine remains the elegant design chosen by Albert Einstein. When your mind probes the limits of understanding about the universe, you can perhaps forget about the extraneous details of your stationary.
